Water Mist System And Their System Of Operation

Water Mist System is a type of fire sprinkler system which is a measure taken for active fire protection. It consists of a system of water distribution piping which are used for connecting the fire sprinklers to supply the rate of flow and also consists of a system of water supply which is used for giving off the required pressure. These fire sprinkler systems formerly were used only in large commercial buildings and factories but now in modern times these sprinkler systems are available at a cost-effective rate so these are also found in small buildings and homes. These are widely used all over the world and these fire sprinklers are alone capable of controlling 99% fire.

Water Mist System are utilized for specific applications where the main objective is to produce a heat absorbent vapour. These are used in the places where there is limited supply of water or damage or wastage of water is a concern. These special sprinkler systems spray water with less than 1000 microns size of each droplet given out from the discharge nozzle operated by minimum pressure. The discharge pressure can be adjusted to control the droplet size through a nozzle which has a fixed size of jaw. A total larger surface area is created by the equal volume of water which is produced by the mist and this surface area is exposed to the fire. The better transfer of heat is facilitated by the total larger surface area. This offers the water droplets to produce steam more rapidly. Per unit time more heat is absorbed by steam than water which then cools the room effectively and the temperature is also reduced of the flame.
A pip cap is pressurized by the link or the glass bulb and this acts as a plug which is used for resisting the water from flowing until the sprinkler around it reaches the design activation temperature from ambient temperature in each sprinkler head. Each sprinkler in general wet pipe sprinkler system is deactivated automatically when the heat level reaches the predetermined point. The number of sprinklers due to this is limited which operate near the fire and the water pressure is maximized at the point of the origin of the fire. This helps to reduce the building's water damage.
These systems of water misting work with the same functionality like the wet pipe, deluge, pre action or dry pipe systems. But the water misting system has an exception which is these use compressed gas which other sprinkler systems do not have. The compressed gas of these systems is utilized as a medium for atomization and through the sprinkler pipe this compressed gas is pumped. Some systems instead of compressed gas utilize high pressure pump for atomization which pressurize the water as it is released from the nozzle of the sprinkler.
The water mist systems are easily available online. Persons or organizations interested in these systems can directly contact the manufacturers in their official websites.
